Dusk2DawnRP Chat Policy
No Advertisement: It’s great that you have something you wish to share with everyone, but we’d ask that you don’t advertise anything without first consulting one of our team.
No Spam: You will refrain from spamming any of our channels on our Discord server.
No Drama: You will handle disputes and disagreements through direct messages or by submitting a Report on our Discord. Drama and arguing will not be tolerated in any voice or text channels.
No Arguing: You will refrain from arguing with members. If you think a staff member or situation was unfair, create a ticket in Discord.
Toxicity
Regarding the rules above: speaking out publicly in a reckless manner, encouraging toxic behavior, and/or fueling drama within the community outside of RP could result in being removed from the community. Gas lighting, stirring the pot and inciting drama is unacceptable.
Complaints
Any complaints, disputes or queries are to be handled by: Creating a ticket in discord for staff to handle your situation effectively and appropriately. To appeal a ban, please put in an “appeal ban ticket” – that is the ONLY way to handle appealing a ban. *Do not DM staff directly. All issues need to be handled in tickets. Under no circumstances should you take any personal issues that you have with the way a scene played out and make it public. Do not attack someone in their DMs or comment about it on their live streaming platform. If you have a problem – open a ticket and let staff deal with it. If not, this could be seen as a form of meta-gaming and result in a ban.
Comp of “lost” money/items: If something has been lost within the game due to a bug, open a ticket in Discord and put your evidence in there for staff to see. Items can only be reissued after evidence is provided, and within reason. All comps will be done at staff’s discretion and there is no guarantee that your items or money will be refunded.
Dusk2DawnRP In-Game Rules
Fail RP: FailRP is defined as failing to stick to your in-game roleplaying. This could be anything from talking out-of-character, breaking the physics of real-life mannerisms just because you know it is a game, and/or simply not acting in your character’s manner.
Character and Actions: You must stay in character at all times while on the server. Breaking character could result in a ban. Some examples of breaking character or roleplaying in an unrealistic manner could be:
● By saying/doing anything out of the realms of your character
● Using IRL talk, names, information, age, etc.
● “Giving up” on a scene because you don’t like the outcome
● Speaking OOC
● Taking things personally and then allowing that to influence your future actions.
● Driving non off-road vehicles on or up mountains to evade police
● Failing to RP with EMS regarding injuries
● Cop baiting
● etc…
For character names, you must create a character with a realistic name. Pre-existing people such as celebrity names or names along the same basis as “Mike Hunt” are not not allowed.
Meta-Gaming: Meta-Gaming (also known as Stream Sniping) is using external factors, information, or knowledge your character would not be able to obtain through normal means of gameplay. This includes, but is not limited to, information gained through livestreams, videos, other characters, and text channels on Discord.
*If you have concerns that someone is meta-gaming, DO NOT stop your scene to handle it. Let the roleplay happen. When the scene has finished, open up a ticket on Discord with your concerns and attach any evidence you have regarding the meta-gaming. If you contact Admin/Staff/Support on any platform (DMs/whispers/etc) regarding the scene you may be banned. There is a ticket system in place for a reason – do not reach out to staff. Open up a ticket in Discord so we can investigate the scene.
Ignoring RP: You are expected to engage in the roleplay that is taking place around you on our server. This does not mean constantly talking. It just means to not turn away an RP opportunity.
Fear RP: At all times during roleplay you must value your life and the lives of others. If a threat is placed on your life, you must RP in a negotiable manner. Not complying with someone who has placed a threat on your life or stating “just kill me” when someone is holding a gun to your head is considered failing to Fear RP and could result in a ban. You must always bargain for your life.
New Life Rule: New Life rule is defined as forgetting the last 30 minutes of your life if you are “incapacitated” and do not receive medical attention. Should your character be incapacitated on the server and not receive any medical treatment on-scene, they will find themselves being “airlifted” to the nearest hospital after 20 minutes of being down. This is the only situation where the New Life Rule is mandatory.
This means you may not return to the scene of your injury for a minimum of 30 minutes from the time you went down (not including the 20 minute respawn time).
You will not remember the events from the 30 minutes prior that led directly to your injury, including but not limited to the person/object that incapacitated you, your exact location, and what exactly you were doing.
Power-Gaming: Power-Gaming (also known as Forced Roleplay) generally happens when someone sacrifices roleplay to favor their own character or to “win” a given scenario. Powergaming is also abusing or exploiting in-game mechanics or bugs, usually done so in order to gain an advantage. There is no “winning” or “losing” within roleplay, and we view this attitude as detrimental to a good roleplay community.
No Random/Vehicular Deathmatch (RDM/VDM):
Random/Vehicular Deathmatch is the act of harming another character with your vehicle or character without any form of prior interaction of RP. Accidentally injuring another player is not considered RDM/VDM as long as there is an attempt to initiate role-play after the fact.
Multiple Characters: It is prohibited to transfer money between characters for the reason of gaining money or items. This will be considered power and meta gaming.
Value Consequence: Every action will have a consequence and set in motion a ripple effect throughout the city. Think about the worst case scenario, and if you are still happy with your actions, proceed. Be aware of the reality of “snitching”, retaliation, repeated gun abuse, car chases, same M.O’s etc – if you cannot handle your consequences, that is not on anyone else’s RP.
Limits on Group Criminal Activity in Robberies: Any form of in-city robberies are limited to 4 players, unless the situation requires more for a scene in which case you MUST consult staff and have a conversation with them prior. When looking for hostages or kidnapping a single player, only 4 players are allowed to be present.
No Ambush Roleplay: Ambush Roleplay means being aware of the situation and trying to match the number of players on the opposing side – most specifically when it comes to police officers. To avoid toxicity in PD – If 2 officers are currently dealing with a situation, no more than 2 people can retaliate. If it’s only one officer, only one person can be active in that scene. This does not mean no one else can be present, this just means they can’t be active and trying to control the situation. In regard to gangs, this rule is situational. Use your own intuition to realize when maybe the role play is being overpowered by the amount of people present.
Extreme/Sexual Roleplay: We do not tolerate any form of terror, racism, sexism, sexual harassment, rape, suicidal, or miscarriage roleplay. Roleplay which a character may be killed, significantly altered, disfigured, or which would realistically change the long-term behavior of a person must be agreed to by the parties directly involved, and proof of this agreement must be provided to a member of Dusk2DawnRP if it is asked for – this can simply be a screenshot in most cases. This is to prevent one player from forcing roleplay on to another player. For example; Character 1 cannot roleplay removing the toe of Character 2 without both players having agreed to the scenario beforehand.
If you are wanting to roleplay a specific scenario that may trigger other’s emotions, for example roleplaying a character with a terminal illness, you must open a ticket in Discord asking for approval by staff as this type of roleplay can be seen as distressful to others. This rule does not apply if you choose to permanently kill your own character after the actions of another character causes them to be injured.
No “0-60” Roleplay: We define “0-60 Roleplay” as roleplay without any consideration for pacing and/or realism. It’s essentially shortcutting your way to the end result for your win. The best storylines and characters take time to build and progress to make good, realistic roleplay.
Dusk2DawnRP Communication:
In-Game Voice: This is a realistic RP server, so a microphone is required to roleplay in Dusk2DawnRP. If your microphone is broken or not working, you must leave the city and return when it is fixed, as we do not support text-based roleplay.
*We reserve the right to remove players from our server(s) should their microphone quality be deemed too poor.*
No External Forms of Communication: You may not use third-party software, such as Discord, to communicate with other players on our server(s) while in the city. This will be considered Meta-Gaming.
Language Barriers: We appreciate that English isn’t everyone’s first language, but we ask that English is the only language used for communication within our Discord server, and in-game on our servers.
Dusk2DawnRP Specific GTA Rules
General: Abusing a lack of police presence is considered to be FailRP and/or power-gaming. You are to finish active roleplay before taking action against any in-game issues including rule-breaking, bugs, drama, and anything else you feel needs to be discussed and/or reported to Dusk2DawnRP. Impersonation of Government Personnel, Law Enforcement Officers, Medical Staff, and/or Military Personnel is prohibited, only allowed with Staff permission.
Combat Logging: Combat Logging is a term that refers to exiting the server via disconnect, F8, or crashing after being “downed” in combat. Essentially, it is when a user exits the server after being downed to avoid losing whatever items are on them. This is strictly against the rules and is a bannable offense. If your computer crashes, you must open a general support ticket informing staff of the situation before continuing the scene.
Cop Baiting: Cop baiting is prohibited on the server. You are not permitted to draw the attention of Law Enforcement Officers (LEO’s) to one location while another group of characters attempts to commit crime in another location.
Prison Breaks and Prison Transportation: It is restricted to breaking people out of prison from the yard, or any other prison break with a helicopter. As of now, it is unacceptable.
Prison Bus transportation ambush: No more than 4 people per group can interfere with the bus and be a part of this break out.
Kidnapping: Kidnapping is completely allowed within reason. If you are the one being kidnapped, you must follow the Fear RP guidelines. Kidnapping Law Enforcement Officers is allowed, but make sure there are at least 4 on duty before attempting to kidnap. LEOs will still need to follow Fear RP guidelines if they are being kidnapped. Kidnapping EMS is not allowed (FOR NOW).
Non-Player Character (NPC) Interactions: The NPCs around the streets are to be treated with the same level of respect that you’d give to any Player Character that you encounter. It’s common, and totally okay, to refer to them as “Locals” but it’s not acceptable to treat them as disposable. Without these NPCs the world you roleplay in would feel incredibly small.
Stealing police weapons: Officer’s being reprimanded for a scene, taken hostage or been kidnapped can have weapons stolen from them. The guns can be taken by /steal with Officers hands up. This is for the scene and situational. This is for the purpose of the scene NOT to just steal weapons of Officers. If an option is given to you, you don’t need to feel forced to hand over weapons OR if you feel they are only purely doing this to steal weapons this is NOT ALLOWED. You can /me give weapons over if they ask you to hand them over, and you MUST abide by having no weapons. If cops are being held up purely for weapons and item gaining, this is power gaming and is a bannable offense. Put in a ticket and staff can address the issue.
Police selling weapons: Police officers are completely restricted from selling any police issued guns to civilians. Being caught selling police issued weapons to someone may result in a ban. This does NOT include melee items or tasers. Keep in mind that selling melee items or tasers can result in police disciplinary action if caught, but it is not a server rule.
Fake Hostages/Robberies: Prearranging or organizing with a friend to take them as a hostage, especially to pay them after, is not allowed. You must RP out getting a hostage if you would like to use one in a robbery/kidnapping scene. All hostages MUST be authentic and RPd out finding a legitimate hostage. IF ASKED YOU CAN NOT LIE AND SAY YOU HAVE A HOSTAGE WHEN YOU DO NOT HAVE ONE. Fake Robberies are not allowed. You may not start a robbery then leave without justifiable reason. If the aim is purely to avoid police interaction, this is considered FailRP and Ignoring RP.
EMS Vehicles/Aircrafts: You are not allowed to steal ANY player-used EMS emergency vehicles such as ambulances, helicopters, or fire trucks. If you find a local ambulance or fire truck, you may use it for a scene, but do not use it if it produces toxicity.
Carrying and Trunk Policy: You can /carry in a car with the following rules:
2 seater/2 door = 3 people max
4 seater/4 door = 5 people max
Bikes = 2 people max (you can /carry if you are the only one on the bike)
Only one person is allowed to be stuffed in the trunk
